CHAN: Body enhancing procedures are no longer an exclusive female domain. India's economic boom is spawning a new breed of male, middle-class professionals with the desire to look good and the money to make it happen. STORY: For years, Indian women have been relying on the surgeon's knife for that perfect body, that flawless face, and now, the men are muscling in . [Dr. Manoj Kumar J Manwani, Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery Consultant]: "Now they have become more aware of their personality and their looks. And the main thing is that they have more purchasing power. Now they are independent, they are earning money at an early age because of a lot of opportunity to them." Manwani, who has been practicing for more than 18 years, said most of his male clientsalready have a good body and work out regularly. But they want to look perfect. In the past, face lifts and nose jobs were the most common cosmetic surgeries for men, but now increasingly the most sought-after treatments are removal of abnormal breast tissue, and abdominal liposuction and reshaping. You know, it's an aspirational society in the throes of growing and becoming something much bigger than it used to be."
